San Francisco is starting to glow greener these days. While Spring is slowly blooming, the Green Festival is just around the corner!
The festival, held from April 9-10th, turns 10 in 2011. GF continues to focus on enviro and social awareness, responsibilities, and initiatives. Check out the website to learn more about Green Festival’s:
* How-to work shops
* Fun for the kiddos
* Live music
* Organic/vegan/veg food and spirits
* 350+ Green exhibitors: grass root movements, fair trade products, established brands and businesses.
* 100+ Speakers: Advocates and authors. TV personalities and techies. Film producers and politicians. Scientists. Entrepreneurs. And the kid next door who envisioned the world as a better place.
Don’t worrying about denting the ole pocketbook! There are several ways to get FREE or discounted admission – from volunteering to donating canned goods. Discounts are available to students and public transit rides (me), while my hubby can get in FREE as a govt. employee! Tickets are cheaper purchased online – otherwise the max daily admission at the door is $15. Regardless, you’ll still receive GF Bucks when you arrive to shop at the festival or donate.
I look forward to learning ways to further Green my lifestyle, stock up Green/sustainable business info, meander through the Marketplace and of course try some healthy festival fare!
After 32 festivals in 8 different cities, it is fittingly the nation’s most revered sustainability event, touting 1,000,000 attendees! If you can’t make it to the SF Green Festival in April – another will be held here in November, as well as the other festival locations.
Consider. The Green Festival.
